RIP Steve Post, an NYC radio fixture for more than 50 years, who called WNYC home for almost 30. Just one gem of a story about Steve:
In an interview with fellow WNYC hosts Leonard Lopate and John Schaefer, Post recounted how he once climbed a ledge at WNYC’s former home at the City’s municipal building in bunny slippers one winter day, after the handle fell off the door of the men’s room, locking him in while in the middle of a show.
"I circumnavigated the building. I came in, I went around to where there’s always an engineer on duty, called the terminal room—a name which I could do without—someone opened the window and said ‘what are you doing here?’ I said I’m taking a stroll! I can’t repeat what I said to him, but I got back in, I got on the air, and did the newscast."
More here, including great archives of some of his programs.

Isaac Cordal’s “Cement Eclipses.”

Isaac Cordal places different miniature statues into his local landscape of Chiapas, Mexico to create an entirely new sense of place once the objects inhabit their chosen situation.  Stories develop organically from the objects and, especially with these skeletal versions, take on a metaphorical prowess to the pleasing street art.  See more below!

There are many stories about Dhio, nearly every one of them is false.

"I can walk this bucket all the way around the car without getting down. You ever seen a man wash the entire top of a car without getting off his bucket? That’s right. I didn’t think so."
